The Rump is an exhibition space born out of a love for unexpected site activations. The first gallery was developed in 2019 out of an old sheet metal garage in the Highland Park neighborhood of Richmond, VA. We hope to provide emerging artists with a space to showcase new bodies of work, and we invite experimentation every step of the way. Rump has hosted exhibitions, performances, workshops, and lectures. After going virtual during the pandemic and bouncing to Chicago for a couple years, the Rump is very excited to return home to RVA. We now call an old cinderblock garage located in Fulton Hill home. We currently have an open call for 2026 and look forward to seeing you soon.
